My research at the GRC focuses on quantitative sedimentary modelling over a variety of scales, from core- to reservoir scale. The aim of this research is to improve the generation of detailed and realistic static reservoir models, populated with properties such as facies and petrophysical data. These types of models are provided to reservoir engineers, prior to dynamic simulations being run. Currently, I am working on multi-point statistics for facies modelling.
Since I graduated from my PhD I have worked on a number of projects. One of the most interesting involved collaboration with geologists from the Central Graben Asset on the Elgin/Franklin Area, which was a great introduction to one of Total’s most challenging fields. I have also had the opportunity to learn French, and recently passed my business French exams. One of the great things about my job is the opportunity to interact with universities both in the UK and abroad.
